Today's lesson is for accessing your Kindle Fire so you can put books and things onto it before you get it. It's really not that difficult to do once you know how to do it, and following these steps will allow you to move content around all of your devices as well.
The first thing you need to do is go to "Your Account" on Amazon.com.
From here, go down to "Digital Content" and select "Manage Your Kindle." (You may be prompted to input your passwords here.)
After that, you'll get a list called "Your Kindle Library" detailing all of your books. On the left, there's a menu of other content, magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc, depending on what you'd like to send. I don't see anything for apps, which means you'll still need to go through the steps in our previous post to get them once you Fire comes.
Once you've decided which item of yours you want to be on your Kindle Fire, go to the "Actions" drop-down menu on the right of that item and select "Deliver to my..."
Your Kindle Fire should be among the choices listed, which you can select, hit "Deliver," and then you should be all set!
Today's Free App of the Day is for Awesome Triple Play Video Poker, which I'm sure poker players will find appealing, but we're going to feature another great app that also deserves some attention.
Name: The Secret of Grisly Manor
Rating: 3.2 stars over 1,208 reviews
Price: 1.99
Description: Your grandfather, a highly eccentric inventor, has mysteriously vanished, and the police have listed him as a missing person. But you receive a letter from your Grandfather dismissing reports of his disappearance! "Please come at once," his letter says, "I have something to show you!" Just what is your grandfather up to? You're about to embark on a very strange hunt for clues in his foreboding and strange mansion, Grisly Manor.
Analysis: The Secret of Grisly Manor has some of the best images I've seen in an app yet. I also find this game particularly appealing because it does do a lot to tell a story within the gameplay, which is an area that apps should be working toward, in my opinion. You'll be searching for clues, solving puzzles, and trying to get to the bottom of your grandfather's mystery.
