A Guide to Kindle Fire Accessories

As with any major technological innovation, an entire industry immediately arises out of it (like this blog, for instance), but as much fun as it is to look at and use an item like the Kindle Fire, there's just as much fun to be had delving into a wide array of products that are built specifically for it.

So let's take a ride through what's available out there for the people who are patiently (or impatiently as the case may be) waiting for their Kindle Fires.

There seem to be a couple of misunderstandings about this one according to the reviews, so let me clear that up. For pre-orders, customers who want to be protected will be charged immediately but coverage begins as soon as you get your Kindle Fire, not before.

It's also possible to get this if you've purchased a Kindle Fire from Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, or any of the other retail stores where the item will become available.

Moving on, let's take a look at covers, of which there is a wide array from a huge number of places. In addition to great ones from Amazon here, you can find different designs on Etsy or M-Edge.
This is one of the best designs I've seen so far. Simple, elegant, personalized. The Verso Artist Series Cover manages to add even more appeal to an electrifying device.

Then there are things like headphones, of which there are a few different varieties. No need to be obnoxious in a public place while enjoying something on the Fire. Pop in headphones and you're good to go.

These JBuds J4 Earbuds with Travel Case is a full $50.00 off at the moment. Not a bad discount at all. I'll also give a nod to the even cheaper Sennheiser MX580 earbuds.

So there you have it. Warranty, Covers, Headphones. Enough to play around with while even more stuff is being devised.

Let's finish off with Today's Free App of the Day, a cool one called WordWrench. I'll add just a quick note here saying we'll be featuring a lot more apps, several in their own post a day, once we get close to the release of the Fire.

Name: WordWrench
Rating: 3.7 stars over 50 reviews
Price: 0.00
Description: WordWrench Full for Android, the game of anagrams, gives you six jumbled letters to puzzle out. Find as many three, four, five, and six-letter words as possible; in fact, if you find a six-letter word, you win the round. Numerous menu options let you tweak this addictive app's behavior, while its simple interface keeps your eyes on the letters and words.

Analysis: For those of us who like to bolster our literary bona-fides, an app like this is invaluable. This game has 8,000 puzzles, enough to test anyone's vocabulary and thinking skills. Full access to a dictionary with this app is a definite plus.
